Astounding junior Nohel Duriettz has begun his first year working for the newspaper for the 2025-2026 school year! Nohel has started this year as a Staff Reporter, stating in his interview that he has always loved writing through his own way of creativity and has always had a passion to write things like his own book series. Nohel says that he would enjoy writing sports themed articles and wishes to apply for the position of Junior Sports Editor for our newspaper group once he gains the necessary experience. Now that Nohel is in his junior year of high school, he has already begun planning his future. He plans to gain more friends this year, study for his ACT, and to go college surfing, looking for colleges that he can apply to in order to continue his education.
As Nohel plans to scout for colleges, his current idea is to apply for a Florida Bright Futures scholarship. He plans on going to Seminole State College for a 2-year scholarship to major in accounting and is currently undecided on whether he wants to apply to UCF or USF for another 2-year scholarship. However, outside of school, Nohel enjoys the habit of cooking, and doing other activities like playing Basketball with friends, and playing video games such as his favorite game Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Nohel also has a hobby for reading, he says his favorite types of books to read is Manga, like Grand Blue Dreaming.
Nohel also loves to watch shows like the anime adaptation of Grand Blue Dreaming. He also likes to watch other popular shows such as the Peacemaker series featuring popular WWE Wrestler, John Cena, and has also watched Amazon’s The Boys including actors like Anthony Starr and Karl Urban. Nohel’s favorite role model is the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joseph Burrow, Nohel’s reason for seeing him as a role model is due to Burrow’s mass amount of success throughout his career. Nohel says that a message he wishes to share for readers of his article is, “Nothing needs to be serious, just have fun, make friends, and pick good classes. And join the newspaper!”
