Eliana Jerez is a sophomore who is highly involved with the band and academics. She is in both the Symphonic and the Jazz band at the school and she plays trumpet in both. Jerez stated she enjoys jazz band because “ I like the different styles of music… it is a really fun experience, and I wouldn’t exchange it for the world.” She is also a huge fan of baking and makes various treats including “cookies, cakes, cakepops, and cheesecake.” She enjoys getting to “try desserts from different countries” and finds baking a “fun form of stress relief.” Jerez does all of this while being in the IB program and facing the challenges that high-level classes can bring. She has found a good balance between work and school and will continue to make an impact on others.
