Coaches, teachers, friends, and families gathered in the auditorium November 5, 2025 to celebrate the achievements of student athletes at Winter Springs High School. With two girls lacrosse players, two softball players, and four baseball players, a total of eight bears signed their NLI (national letter of intent) to confirm their decision and commitment to play their sport at their chosen college. A monumental day for the young athletes was recognized by many, with special speeches from principal Mr. Gaffney and athletic director Mr. Gomrad.
After announcing all the students signing, head coaches came up to the table to tell everyone a little bit more about their athlete. Head girls lacrosse coach, Coach Lucas introduced Nadya Gallego, signing to Young Harris College, and Kendra Huet, signing to University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and boasted about the hard work her players have put in to achieve this goal. Following lacrosse, head softball coach, Coach Gordon recognized Adison Pierce, signing to Augusta University, and Katelyn Wassey, signing to Seminole State College, and gave insight to each of the girls individual journeys on becoming committed. Finally head baseball coach, Coach Bradley honored Tripp Rodenberger, signing to Northwest Florida State, Tyler Kenast, signing to Texas Tech, Edward Risano, signing to Daytona State, and Luke Walters signing to Daytona State and discussed what each player has brought to the baseball program at WSHS.
Signing day concluded with proud friends and families taking pictures with each student athlete and their tables, decorated with their future school colors and mascots. It was an enjoyable day for all and a great day for Winter Springs athletics.
