On January fifth of 2026, Bruno Mars posted to his X account and said “My album is done.”, a common tradition for the artist, having posted the same for his other previous albums. A few days later on January seventh, he announced his long-awaited fourth album called The Romantic, which will be releasing on February 27, with an accompanying tour across the US, UK, and Europe. He also announced a lead single for the album called “I Just Might” that would be released on January ninth and as of January 15, the song currently has 32 million views on YouTube.
Bruno’s last album, An Evening with Silk Sonic was a collaboration album with him and Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic), and received massive critical acclaim, with its lead single “Leave the Door Open” winning four awards at the 2021 Grammys including Song of the Year. On the solo side, Bruno Mars’ last album would be 24K Magic back in 2016, receiving the same praise that his previous two albums had, and even won the Grammy for Best Album in 2018.
It has been a long wait for fans of Bruno, with the gap between released albums reaching 3,348 days when the album releases, or just about 10 years. This has been a recent trend in the music industry as many artists who have not released an album in years are releasing, like A$AP Rocky with Don’t Be Dumb finally releasing after being delayed so many times, and J Cole releasing The Fall Off on February 6th, 2026 which he has been teasing for years. If these recent examples of artists who have been on a drought of releasing music continue, this year could be interesting for fans who are waiting for their favorite artists to finally release some new music after years of waiting.
