Posted on August 26, 2025 the trailer for the third season of the anime-adapted live action Alice In Borderland began by showing the main character, Arisu confronting who seems to be the face behind the Joker card in a dark hallway, who says, “Arisu. I’ve been expecting you.” The voice asks Arisu and Usagi, another main character, who now both seem to be married, to come back and rejoin the game. It also seems like other characters will gain back their memories of the game, and will want to return more prepared, in order to end the game once and for all. So far, there seem to be more, far deadlier challenges than the last time they were put into the game. The stakes seem to be much more intense, showing what seems like more betrayal and anger between the new and returning players.
As the second season of Alice in Borderland commenced on December 22, 2022, ending with each surviving player; who chose to go back, ending up returning to the real world where they were struck by a meteor, and some later reunited with the people they knew back during the game such as Shintaro Chishiya, Suguru Niragi. As well as main characters Yuzuha Usagi, and Ryohei Arisu. The season finale ended by showing a new face card which seems to be the symbol of restarting the game again, the Joker card.
Season three, most likely the final season, was announced just under a year later on September 27, 2023 with a photo that had been posted on Twitter, now known as “X”, which revealed a poster that featured ten player cards. Fans decrypted the message, and eventually figured out its meaning: “ALICE THREE.” The season was recently released on Netflix on Monday, September 25, 2025.
According to theories and scenes in the trailer, many fans are left in question, wondering, is the child Arisu is shown holding really their future child? Will returning characters survive this time around? Will they stop the Joker and his schemes? The fans are seemingly devastated and argue over the main character, Arisu, as many people who watched the trailer believe that he may end up dying at the end of the series. But the question remains for fans. If you were given the chance, would you return to Borderland?
