Cole Manana is a junior here at Winter Springs High School. He may already be known by some as the captain of our tennis team, but that does not tell the entire story of who Cole is and his background of how he got into tennis. Cole first started playing tennis at 9 years old after his mom got him a tennis racket. He recalls “being able to hit the tennis ball “really fast,” thinking that he could play it, and Cole is still playing it to this day. When asked how being a captain for the tennis team was, he described it as having authority on the team. He also thinks that he is able to learn from it because of the responsibility and authority, but not having too much pressure thanks to his coaches, which he considers good for him.
Outside of tennis, he likes going to the gym and drawing. Last year, he also wrestled but stopped because he did not have time between his new job at a deli, which he enjoys. Cole’s favorite subject is science, since it talks about things happening in the real world that the other subjects do not really do. Cole does not really look up to anyone, instead, he pushes himself to get better, and wants to be his own inspiration.
When asked what made him unique, Cole said that he is outgoing, enjoys talking to people, and that he is diabetic. He has three pets: a dog named Reagan, like the president, a cat named Eevee, like the pokemon, and a leopard gecko named Baby Girl, only because he could not think of anything else to name it. Cole wants to be remembered for being an honest, hard worker with redeemable qualities. His favorite movies are the Star Wars movies, his favorite movie of the series being Revenge of The Sith.
