On March 26, 2025 Blumhouse Productions announced that the first trailer for the second Five Nights at Freddy’s movie was set to release on April 2, 2025 announcing the movie to come out 8 months in advance on December 5, 2025. One week later, we got our first look at the new movie trailer. Fans dug deep into detail, pointing out small elements such as the designs of the toy animatronics, as well as returning characters like Mike Schmidt, Abby Schmidt, Vanessa Shelly, and William Afton who seems to be shown in a flashback as well as screaming “showtime!!” near the end of the trailer.
However, many fans were skeptical on how this movie would perform, as due to the trailer, these new animatronics seem to roam around everywhere rather than being stuck inside of the Freddy’s Pizzeria like the original animatronics had been, such as Toy Chica seeming to hide inside of a closet at an unknown school, Mangle following Mike, Abby, and Vanessa, as well as Toy Bonnie inside of an unknown characters home, and Toy Freddy walking through what seems to be some kind of crowded carnival.
After the trailer had been released, still not much information has come out, such as any returning characters or actors such as CoryXKenshin who played the cabbie driver, internet theorist MatPat who plays a restaurant waiter named Ness, or Kat Conner Sterling who plays Abby’s baby sitter Max, though many had made theories stating that Max may come back to the movie as the animatronic character known as Shadow Freddy. Although, none of this information seems to be confirmed. Many fans are either excited or scared for how the sequel may turn out.
