Zoey Dixon is a sophomore at Winter Springs High School, and a first year Staff Reporter for the Bear Truth News. Dixon joined the Bear Truth in order to improve her writing and explore a variety of different article styles. She is looking forward to writing entertainment articles, specifically about music, such as album reviews.

Outside of the newspaper, Zoey is very involved in Winter Springs. She is excited for all the school activities going on, such as Homecoming and the upcoming football games. She is a candidate for the IB program, and is currently taking Pre-IB classes to prepare for entrance into the program in her junior year. She is also a part of the school’s Chorus program; this year, she is in the Voices of Gold class.. Zoey is hoping to join Tri-M, the music honor society, and the IB Club.

Dixon’s hobbies outside of school include doing her nails, going to the beach, and paddleboarding. She also enjoys singing and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite artist is singer-songwriter Conan Gray, and her favorite series, both the films and the books, is the dystopian story The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

After high school, Zoey wants to attend University of Florida (UF). She wishes to study politics, and one day become a politician who specializes in environmental politics.

In her everyday life, Dixon takes a lot of inspiration from her mother, who she describes as hardworking and determined. She applies both these qualities to her daily outlook on the world.

Zoey cannot wait to see what her sophomore year at Winter Springs brings her. She is looking forward to growing as a writer, student, and singer, as well as gaining new skills during her first year with the Bear Truth News.
