With the highly anticipated release of Bullet Train, fans’ enjoyment led to the film reaching a box office sale of 212.6 million dollars worldwide with 93.9 million of the funds coming from the United States. The rated R movie premiered in Paris on July 18 and was officially launched in the United states on August 5.

Bullet Train starts off with an assassin, Ladybug, going on a mission to retrieve a briefcase. Boarding the train, he later realizes he’s not the only one after what’s inside. The movie takes place in Japan and was filmed in both Los Angeles and Tokyo. Starting in November of 2020 and shooting throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the filming took a little less than a year before edits and CGI were implemented.

Featuring iconic actors and actresses including Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Tyler-Johnson, David Leitch, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Andrew Koji, and Sandra Bullock. The musician Bad Bunny was also included in the cast, fulfilling his dream of making it big in theaters. The role he received wasn’t at all what he expected, he told USA Today, “I never, ever had a dream where I was trying to kill Brad Pitt in a movie scene.” The director, David Leitch, also plays another assassin, Tangerine. In the late 1990’s he was Brad Pitt’s stunt double and now is Pitt’s director for the movie, reuniting after Fight Club. The red carpet event was hosted on July 19 in Berlin and many of the cast members attended and shared the spotlight.

The film is action-packed with several twists and turns that get the audience on their feet. While the scenes get intense at times, the comedy is a breath of fresh air. The movie was a satisfying end to the summer as students got ready to head back to school.
