In November, the Call of Duty franchise will be coming out with a new game, Call of Duty: Vanguard. This came as a surprise to most since they just released Cold War last November, normally when a company releases a new game they wait about two years to even announce that they are going to release another one.

The first trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard was released on August 16. The full reveal took place on August 19 inside the Call of Duty: Warzone royale game. The gameplay is just showing one of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s levels and theaters of war.

The first gameplay footage made it look kind of like a horror game. The campaign footage is from a level in the game set in Stalingrad, with the character Polina Petrova. It starts with Polina walking around an apartment complex and trying to find weapons wherever she can. After she grabs a knife, she kills a German soldier and steals his gun, fighting her way outside. We find out that her signature weapon is a sniper rifle. In one of the fighting scenes she gets hit with the butt of a rifle and then the demo swaps back to one hour in the past where we see the streets of Stalingrad before they were turned into rubble and fire by the German soldiers. After walking around the streets, German planes flew in and began strafing the roads with gunfire. Polina tries to escape a crumbling building and falls unconscious as the trailer comes to an end.

Activision has announced before that Vanguard will have Warzone integration, including weapons and a new map, a Zombies mode made by Treyarch, and of course, a new multiplayer experience. Call of Duty: Vanguard is said to be released on Nov. 5, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
