Boys’ Varsity soccer triumphed over Hampden DeBose for the 2021 Senior Night.  It was a great send-off for so many who have played for the Winter Springs Bears soccer team over the past four years. The team won 4-1 with goalkeeper Stuart Roosa, scoring a point in the striker position providing Roosa with a very different view of the soccer pitch. Carter Brones commented on their victory, “It was a good win. It allowed us to work on our weaknesses, and better our strengths. As a senior it was fun to win and see all of my teammates grow and be better at what they love. A lovely way to end senior night.”.

The soccer season was full of ups and downs, but with the victory comes high hopes for playoffs this week. Drew Desabrais added,”It was a well-fought game. Senior NIght was great, but the game was pretty sad  knowing our seniors will not be on the roster with us next year.”  Zach DeFabrizio was “pleased with this year’s record and how the goal differential shrunk with each game.”  Opposing teams like Lake Mary and Oviedo were caught off guard by the improvement the team made over the course of this season – beating the Bears by only one goal.   Many players are happy about the victory against Hampeden Dubose and are hungry for another win in the playoffs.

Bears Boys’s Soccer faces off against Southlake,  the first game in the playoffs. Boys’ Soccer has had a rough season, but with two wins under their belts, one right before playoffs, this should be just the boost in confidence needed to face down their opponents in the first game of district playoffs.  The best is yet to come.
