Kaitlyn Ersch is a senior at our very own Winter Springs High School. For Kaitlyn, spending her senior year correctly is balancing her love for writing, spending time with her friends, and preparing herself for her future. 

After high school Kaitlyn plans on attending cosmetology school and achieving her goal of becoming a hair stylist. Her dream is to rent a chair in a salon and build enough clientele to open her own hair salon. “My dream is to be a hair stylist,” Kaitlyn says. It’s something she’s very passionate about.

Despite being part-time in newspaper, Kaitlyn wants to contribute as much as she can, whether that be helping with fundraisers, writing articles, or planning layout. Kaitlyn had originally joined for her love of writing and she says the class has helped with her writing in other classes. Her favorite articles to write are spotlights. “I love getting to know people,” she says, which highlights her outgoing personality.

Kaitlyn describes her personality as outgoing, kind and social. She says her friends and family would agree. She also has a rescue cat named Maze, which was found by her dad. Kaitlyn’s biggest role model in life is her mom who she says has been her number one fan since the day she was born.

Kaitlyn’s interests range very far, from music to TV. She says her favorite artists are Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter but her taste can vary from that to Don Toliver and Justin Bieber. Her favorite TV show is Squid Game which she just recently finished.
