On September 8th, 2025, the body of 15 year old Celeste Rivas was found in the trunk of singer d4vd’s impounded Tesla in Hollywood. She had been missing since April 5, 2024, but as of earlier this month, the truth has slowly been coming out. The events between and before, have aroused questions and speculation of the real story. As of October 9, the cause of her death has been labelled to be “deferred” as of the time of this article being written, many suspecting death by overdose.
David Anthony Burke, or professionally known as d4vd, is an American singer-songwriter, known for such hits as “Romantic Homicide.” He made his emergence in 2021, but support for his music and tours has dropped drastically due to the case, many finding it difficult to separate the art from the artist.
Rumors have been circulating social media as people dig up information on the relationship between d4vd and Celeste, the police having shared limited information on the case. The confirmed information from online, however, is shocking.
Confirmed by Rivas’ parents, Celeste had been dating a man named David since she was 11. Before 2024, she had run away twice before. From a claim by Celeste’s former teacher, he had seen the two together on numerous occasions, including before her past runaways. He says, “He came and got her. She ran away from home. She was gone for, like, a month. The cops found her in Hollywood [and] brought her back to our school.”
His home has been searched, police taking evidence from his laptop and social media presence. There is direct evidence in chats, streams, and videos of the relationship between the singer and missing girl, especially in d4vd’s Discord server. The screenshots of their messages have been circulating the internet, and allegedly, no one else in the chat had any knowledge that Celeste was a minor. Recently, a video has been dug up of d4vd cleaning a pair of shoes on stream that seem to match those belonging to the missing teen. Not just her shoes have been seen — the singer was seen wearing both Rivas’ Hello Kitty keychain and bracelets. Along with this, footage has been shared of who is thought to be Celeste backstage at a d4vd concert. D4vd has even requested the deletion of a video where he and Rivas are seen together on stream. However, these sources may not be fully accurate as they have been revealed by social media users across the nation.
The undeniable facts, however, are that Celeste Rivas had a tattoo on her index finger that read, “Shhh…” which matches that of the singer, d4vd. An unreleased song named “Celeste” was leaked as well, many lyrics stating Rivas’ name and referencing “the girl with [his] name tattooed on her chest.” This tattoo connection could be the key to cracking this case, but law officials haven’t seemed to mark d4vd as a suspect yet.
With these facts, social media users have connected dots of grooming, assault, and possibly murder. Some believe that models in d4vd music videos resemble Celeste, while others say that d4vd is paying people hush money to keep quiet. But these rumors could lead to harmful misinformation. The facts we have, however, — such as the chats, videos, witness accounts, and tattoos — display the truth of the case.
Even with all revealed and all public speculation, as of October 9, d4vd has not been marked a suspect in the disappearance or death of 15 year old Celeste Rivas.
