For years softball has been the pinnacle of Winter Springs High School. As always the team is filled with the best Winter Springs has to offer. Every year, The Seniors on the team embody what it means to be a Bear, by playing in the annual senior game. In a rare coincidence there is only one senior athlete on the team this year. Alondra Maldonado, the one and only senior, is a highly respected and decorated player. In celebration of her, the team and parents wore shirts with her name and number on the back. Even through the celebration they stayed determined and beat Lake Mary high school 11-1. When asked about how the game went one player named Adison Pierce stated “It was a great win but I’m glad I could give my friend a great senior night.” “It was an impressive blowout win, especially for the game honoring seniors,” stated Malcolm Marfori. In addition, Kamryn Evans, expressed, “I was happy they won; I was rooting for them. Lastly, Giana Hay, a senior, pronounced, “The ceremony was super sentimental and it was so sweet seeing how much the team appreciated their seniors.”
