What is romance without a good classic? Speaking of classics, February 13th 2026 coming to the big screen is Wuthering Heights starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie. Director Emerald Fennel’s Wuthering Heights is based on Emily Bronte’s classic 1847 novel. Many know of this classic and are super excited, but there have been many opinions on the what if’s. Many movies resurface and many love the change, whereas many want the classics to stay classics. With Valentine’s Day being right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to grab your chocolates and tissues.
Wuthering Heights is a very old love story known for its heavy love between two characters Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw; it dissects the differences, fights, passion, and revenge of love. Movies get remade all the time, how can someone change it or make it the same? And how’s the performance going to be? And how will this film affect new audiences that have never seen something so deep? There are so many questions and thoughts before a new/old film comes out but you always can predict and pre-review. A user on reddit.com said “I don’t think that it will be a story that will appeal to modern audiences. It might maintain its status in classical and academic circles.’’ This prediction could go many different ways, the story could be stuck to the same vintage way and the remake could just enhance that. This can also be taken as maybe this film isn’t meant for the “modern” audience. Gen Z has had a big use of the word “yearning”, the @warnerbrosanz TikTok page made it very clear on their November 26, 2025 post that the film will be full of “yearning.” This word is defined as “a feeling of intense longing for something, typically something that one has been separated from or that is unattainable.” The use of the internet is allowing film lovers to think about what their next film could be like and using key words that Gen Z uses is helpful and brings more audience in. People are about to be pulled in by what we can predict will be the romance movie of 2026.
