Despite the change in band director, the Winter Springs High School Band of Gold is continuing to work as hard as ever on their halftime marching show.

This year, the show is Phantom of the Opera and features songs from the movie like Angel of Music, Music of the Night, and the well-known, The Phantom of the Opera. The show will feature curved patterns, squares, and other mesmerizing shapes that will be sure to amaze. The incredible music compliments the marching for a captivating experience.

Senior clarinet player Michal Anna Fox is very excited for the show.

“This is the first year that more than half of the band has actually known the music we’re playing and is excited about it. When a band is excited about the music they’re playing, the audience can feel it through their performance. This year’s show is going to be the most exciting one yet!” Fox said.

The band practices after school every Tuesday and Thursday, rain or shine. The Band of Gold has eleven performances of their incredible show this marching season. Be sure to catch them either at a football game or at the Seminole County Marching Festival in October.

The band’s first performance will be at the WSHS vs Hagarty home game on September first. Come out and support the Winter Springs High School Band of Gold!
