Bio hacking is the process of embedding microchips into fingers and arms for the purpose of enhancing one’s technology capabilities.

Upgrading your body is now possible, with advancements in technology happening all around us, the next big jump in computing is human bio electrical augmentation, or bio-hacking for short. Some people think it’s crazy talking about putting computers inside humans and, “becoming cyborgs,” while others believe it is a great way to improve their business techniques. Yet there are others still that believe that this technology is the next step in human evolution. With today’s advancements, this crazy notion of becoming part robot might not be the far out as it seems.

The most common electronic upgrades available are magnetic implantation and RFID chipping. Magnet implanting is an interesting new way to give you a, ”sixth sense.” A magnet implant consists of a 52n neodymium magnet coated in 24 karat gold and then placed inside a silicon or Teflon casing to bio proof it. Gold, silicon, and Teflon are all bio friendly, meaning they don’t react to your body’s internal immune system and thus are not rejected by the body. The magnet is then inserted into your body, most commonly in the non-dominant ring finger. This is due to the fact it’s your least useful finger, in case something does go wrong.

The procedure is done mostly by body modification specialists at tattoo or piercing shops and involves no anesthesia and ranges around the price of $100. Once the painful procedure is over and your small finger wound is patched up with surgical glue you can immediately start picking up paper clips and any other small ferrous objects with your finger.

After a few weeks of healing you will start to feel what is known as, “the hum,” or the magnetic fields around you reacting with the magnet in your finger causing it to vibrate. The hum is your new sixth sense, the ability to perceive magnetic fields as physical interactions. Perception of the world is completely changed , being able to feel the buzz coming off of power lines above your head and the hum of your microwave as it spins your food round and round. This bio hack is completely safe with no side effects other than the small accidental discovery that people with this implant are immune to stun guns and electrical weaponry. With a magnetic implant military grade Tasers will be little more than a prick on the skin.

The other common bio hack is the RFID chip that is by no means any more comfortable, but ranges around the same price. The RFID chip is implanted using a large needle to inject a glass pill the size of a microchip into the skin in between your thumb and pointer finger or your arm.

When programmed correctly, the RFID chip can be a very interesting tool. When someone swipes their smart phone over the area of the chip they will instantly be taken to a website or application the chip is programmed to go to. For business owners this could be a very interesting way to distribute a business card via a website link. Overall, bio-hacking is becoming more popular every day, with humans falling slack behind technological advancements the best option we have is to upgrade or get left behind.
