Once High Schoolers reach their senior year of high school, they must juggle the stress of applying for colleges, keeping up with classes, deciphering prom plans and many more. Even Though it’s the last year, it’s also the one with the most “to-do’ list tasks. And for this senior, her list is doubled. Poojita Kanumuri is the senior class president, IB student, Renewable energy honor society member, HOSA officer and many more! A typical week for Kanumuri contains lots of homework, club meetings, work shifts, and tons of gas money spent to drive everywhere. While some may see a schedule like this as intimidating, Kanumuri just sees it as a blessing. When asked how she handles everything she notes her family keeps her going, “They allow me to pursue all my interests and support me through it all.” Lovingly calling them and her friends’ support a “blessing.” When asked how she decompresses after a long week she replied “hanging out with friends.” Whether it’s something as simple as “getting ice cream” or “setting up a bonfire.” All time spent together is fun and keeps her going. Looking into the future, Poojita is excited to experience all the fun senior activities her and the Senior class officers are planning as well as graduate and go off to college.
