Phyllis Flately has a passion for playing volleyball on the varsity team. She said, “It’s a really fun sport. I enjoy the competition, and the bond the team creates. We always fought our hardest in games, and no matter the outcome, we could at least know we gave it our all.” Flatley chose to join the team because she played in middle school and wanted to experience how different it would feel to play in high school but also because it helps her prepare to play at a college level. Flatley also loves taking care of animals and her pets at home. Though she is keeping her career options open, after high school she plans on going to college and is ultimately looking forward to new experiences and meeting new people.
