Ms. Dawn Wilkerson is the sponsor of the TV Production team at WSHS. She is responsible for teaching students the basics of various Adobe software in which she also produces the BNN news. In addition, Wilkerson is the sponsor for the Video Club where students get to be a part of her movies.
Ms. Wilkerson first began teaching at WSHS when it first opened. Since she began teaching, she has been awarded Teacher of the Year and seen her students grow up to direct their own movies. Wilkerson has had a fruitful 28-year-long career in Bear Nation so far.
Wilkerson enjoys and has a lot of fun when making student projects in TV Production. She is very passionate about the work she does here, such as grading student movies, many of which are filmed around campus. Wilkerson will also occasionally teach students the basics of filming production and post-production editing. As far as exams go, Wilkerson reports that the exams are not extremely challenging and are used as tools to help students further retain information. The class has an easy-going atmosphere and has a thorough curriculum for those who wish to learn about film production.
In Wilkerson’s spare time, she enjoys contributing to her community. One way she has done this in the past is cosplaying as Star Wars characters as a form of charity towards cheering up sick children. Wilkerson also enjoys sewing and designing clothing in her freetime. She can also play piano.
