Alphonsa Thomas is a freshman at Winter Springs High School. She aspires to attend University of Florida and study chemistry in the future. Alphonsa said that her favorite part of WSHS so far is the large variety of students and the many opportunities to build connections and make friends. Alphonsa is very passionate about studying medicine, so she is looking forward to being able to study chemistry a few years down the line. Although she loves studying medicine, Alphonsa is also very passionate about reading and swimming in her free time. At home, her family consists of her mom, dad, and older sister that currently studies at UCF. 

She was born in India and when she was only six years old, she moved to the United States. Up until seventh grade she lived in New Mexico and then she moved down to Florida. Alphonsa said she loves how beautiful the scenery was in India and although she was young and does not remember much, she definitely remembered the gorgeous architecture and plants. Even though Alphonsa is interested in medicine, she still doesn’t truly know what she wants to do but that’s okay because she still has a long successful future ahead of her.
