A Complete Unknown, a new film by James Mangold, is a biopic on the singer- songwriter Bob Dylan (Robert Zimmerman). In the 1960’s, Dylan arrived in New York at the age of 19 with just his guitar and his talent. He is a folk artist and is known as the Shakespeare of his generation. Many said he “changed the world’’ by switching from folk to rock and combining them together.
Dylan’s massive repertoire of music involves themes varying from worldwide challenges, romantic relationships, and the human condition. His song “Like a Rolling Stone” was named the #1 greatest Rock n’ Roll song of all time, according to Rolling Stone magazine in 2004. For his contribution to music and culture, Dylan has received numerous awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature, an Academy Award, multiple Grammys, and a Golden Globe.

He has many live albums and recordings in the studio. Dylan is still on tour at 83-years-old and is one of the greatest American icons ever.
Timothee Chalamet is a French-American actor who portrayed Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and he’s received many positive reviews.
The movie focused on Bob Dylan’s life, including his ascent to prominence and his typical way of living. Bob Dylan did reach out and say certain things during the five years it took to shoot this film, this was Dylan’s words. “There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!). Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me.”
From Bob’s perspective on music and fame to his romantic life, this movie explores a wide range of emotions. Dylan’s “weird” behavior is depicted in this movie; Timothee improved it fantastically. In the film, Chalamet portrays Dylan’s mindset on how every piece of music differs from the last.Also, the film wants to show Bob Dylan’s story and how he got rushed into something at only the age of 19-20 years old. It explores the idea that it’s not always about music: he’s human and has a story, and that’s exactly what everyone of the set A Complete Unknown showed.

Bob is a huge part of the music industry and how music has evolved. He’s had many bumps in his road, including negative responses to his creative and new ideas. The movie and the cast have all worked hard in order to relay the reality of Bob’s life to the screen. This film and Bob Dylan himself can be role models.
