Hogwarts Legacy is another game based on the Harry Potter series. This game however is a lot more anticipated and already favored over the previous attempts at making Harry Potter based games. It is an RPG (role playing game) with a very large map and lots of activities to do. Some fans are a little upset that the game is not multiplayer, however, it is reasonable given that it took a 14 minute video to showcase some of the content in the game. There are many theories and questions as to the exact contents however there are a lot of confirmed theories that have been either tweeted out by the developers or shown in the State of Play trailer.

        Hogwarts Legacy is going to take place in the player’s 5th year at Hogwarts but joined late so they are behind. The player will take classes with the confirmed ones being: potions, defense against the dark arts, charms, and herbology. There will be a custom area called the room of requirement and an even more customizable area where you can keep collected pets and animals to take care of. There will also be companions which are npcs that will help players on their adventures. There will be a housing system and magic based combat mechanics. The fighting mechanics will heavily rely on combos that players will use to their liking as they learn their fighting style. The map will include significant locations from the books and movies such as: Gringotts bank, Hogsmeade, the Hogwarts Train Station, and obviously Hogwarts itself. The trailer also shows the pause menu where you can see pages like: talents (upgrades), inventory, character, collections, challenges, map, quests, and settings which are all of the expected ones however there is another called Owl Post which is assumed to be some sort of mail system in game as owls are the mail messengers in the books and movies.

        Those are the confirmed features but there are also three big theories to go along with them. In the trailer, it shows the player using the “Avada Kedavra” which is an unforgivable curse. Many were wondering if the other two unforgivable curses would be in the game as Crucio wouldn’t make the game very child friendly while Imperio may have some practical use. Another big theory is if there will be Quidditch or not. Quidditch is the complicated game played on a flying broomstick and it is shown that you can fly in the trailer on the broom stick along with a flying teacher however these features are not confirmed yet. Another not so big theory is if Diagon Alley is in the game since Gringotts is in Diagon Alley however no scenes in the trailer are in Diagon Alley so it is not confirmed.
