Life is Strange yet beautiful in upcoming remasters
March 24, 2022
Video game developers Square Enix and Deck Nine caused a frenzy among the gaming community when they unveiled the trailer for a remaster collection of their beloved video game franchise Life is Strange. The original plan was to release the collection, which includes the original Life is Strange as well as the prequel Before the Storm, in the fall of 2021, but production was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The American entertainment website Screen Rant reported, “Players can expect far more than mere visual enhancements, however. In addition to improving the graphics, Deck Nine and Square Enix also put in the effort to vastly enhance the animations by using facial motion capture. Such commitment should go a long way in improving Life is Strange’s quirkier aspects, specifically the troublesome lip-sync issues. And by the looks of it, the lip-sync has most definitely received a quality boost.” Additionally, the franchise’s original stars, Chloe Price and Max Caulfield, will be returning despite most fans’ assumptions that they wouldn’t be seen in future games.
As with the series’ other games, Life is Strange: Remastered Collection will present the player with the ability to travel back in time, solve puzzles, and make a variety of different choices that could lead to severe consequences. According to Screen Rant, the franchise is also no stranger to handling “serious issues, from suicide and grief to love and heartache.” The entry Life Is Strange: True Colors, which was released on September 10, 2021, took a deeper dive into difficult topics by including various LGBTQ+ characters, such as the bisexual main protagonist Alex Chen.
The remaster collection is scheduled to be released on February 1 for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and the Google service Stadia. Fans of the franchise are expecting no shortage of extraordinary gameplay, breathtaking graphics, intense storylines, or tear-jerking moments.
