The 2020 Billboard Music Awards Goes Big

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards is a wrap. It aired on October 14 from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. It was originally supposed to air on April 29, but because of COVID-19, the event was postponed. However, the show must go on. They had some of the biggest celebrities in the world which would make sense because the Billboard is one of the most anticipated Award shows for celebrities. 

The show was hosted by Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson has been the host of the Award show for two years in a row. There were many winners of the biggest Award categories. Post Malone won big at the show and took home artist of the year, Male Artist, Rap Male artist, Rap Tour, streaming songs Artist, Hot 100 Artist, Billboard 200 Artist, and Rap artist. 

Other award winners included: Billie Eillish (Female Artist, New Artist), Harry Styles (Chart Achievement), Lizzo (Song Sales Artist), Khalid (R&B Male Artist, and R&B Tour) Jonas Brothers (Duo/Group, Radio Songs Artist, and Radio Sucker), Cardi B (Rap Female Artist), Bad Bunny (Latin Artist), and BTS (Social Artist). It was also a big night for Garth Brooks because he received the Icon Award, which would be presented by his good friend Cher Brooks. There were also other celebrities that took home awards that night.

Numerous artists performed throughout the show, which included John Legend, En Vogue, Demi Lavoto, BTS, Bad Bunny, Sia, Alicia Keys, Post Malone ft. Tyga, Luke Combs, Doja Cat, Khalid, Kane Brown, and many more. 

With the award show wrapping up for this year and celebrities winning and performing for the show, fans are even more excited for next year’s Billboard Award show. With that being said, that’s a wrap for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
