The VMA’s is an annual event where big stars perform their singles and win awards. The VMA’s is one of the biggest musical awards shows, which makes fans even more excited to see if their favorite performers are nominated for an award or even if they will perform at the show. However, because of COVID the VMA’s took a different turn this year.

The award show was turned into a virtual award show. The show included performances by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, The Weekend, BTS, Miley Cyrus, DaBaby, Doja Cat, and several other musical performers. Some of the singers performed at different locations while some performed at the VMA’s.

Some of the award winners include: The Weekend, who won “Video of the Year” for hit song “Blinding Lights.” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande together won “Song of the Year” for their song “Rain on Me.” Dua Lipa won for best visual effects for “Physical.” BTS won best pop for their song “On.” There are many other artists who took home awards from the VMAs.

While fans had to be home and watch from their televisions, many people enjoyed watching the the show. Posts on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat were mostly positive from people watching the show. The show may have been a little different this year, but it was still fun and exciting to watch from home.
