Dr. Paula Vickers, Adviser
Dr. Vickers is the International Baccalaureate Coordinator at WSHS. In addition, she mentors new teachers through a program called NEST. As the adviser for the newspaper class, Dr. Vickers shares her expertise on journalistic writing, photojournalism, and layout and design. Interestingly, Dr. Vickers was the original sponsor of the Bear Truth News which was established in 1997 when WSHS first opened. Her goals for the program are to establish and maintain a student run organization that produces both an online and print version of our school’s newspaper. In addition to advising the newspaper, Dr. Vickers is also the sponsor of the IB club and HOSA (Health Occupations Student Association). Dr. Vickers is also the 2023 WSHS Teacher of the Year.
