On June 26, 2015 the United States government made a revolutionary amendment that enhanced the ideals that ‘All…are created equal,’ with the legalization of gay marriage.

This United States has always been a figure for change the world has looked up to, and with this new development in our society, it seems as though a new era of progression and advancements are happening every day. From new technology, new trends, and new social changes, the world overall has experienced a radical and beneficial progression; however, with 2016 around the corner what is expected of next year?

The presidential elections will determine most of what new changes will be developing in the country. The new president elected may have radical changes to the country including possible modernization of economic, social, and industrialization of the United States. However, regardless of who wins the country’s heart in the new coming elections, new laws are certain to develop.

Up for debate currently, happens to be a new addition to amend the rules on bankruptcy, allowing it to be easier for many citizens to file for bankruptcy and also amend previous requirements to file. The amendment will also include new rules when intervening in bankruptcy cases. The proposition was placed in the August of 2015, however, if history repeats itself, this bill will not be amended for quite some time.

The possibilities of a new cultural change, a new technological development, or economic stabilization will lead the United States into either progression or a regression. Several new changes possibly pending that will not only change the United States, but the world.

A new pill that decreases risk of skin cancer and sunburn, a new automated mining industry, and even  advanced robots working in agricultural fields alongside farmers and pickers are just some of the new improvements to society.

In politics, that can only be determined by who is elected to run the country, and that can only be determined by the candidate that is elected in the fall of 2016. Candidates Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina represent significant leaps in political gender equality if one is elected to be the first woman President.

With rising dangers abroad such as ISIS and the continuation of jihads, the fear of a terrorist attack is at its highest; also, the United States is expected to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees next year as well. With a new president, and 10,000 new citizens, the United States government will be facing a plethora of domestic affairs due to foreign influences.

“For me personally, I really just want to see our country not fall apart,” says senior Mykaela Verney “It has been really weird with gun laws, and just even the way the candidates [of the 2016 election] have been involved with scandals.”

Verney is hoping to see more stability in the future, and so are many other Americans. With the new election coming up, and a new year around the corner, possibilities for change may become realities. Whether it be a new law, a new invention, or simply a new political leader and figure; all the country is waiting for the United States to shine once more. A new transition out of 2015 and into the next year is bound to be filled with new prospects for a hopefully better future for everyone.
