Apple recently made a deal with Google where they would profit about $15 billion to give Google access to Apple’s privacy settings, policies, and services. Now Google has access to everything you do on an iPhone and now has the power to change everything about the built-in privacy systems and services etc.

Historically, Apple and Google have been rivals since the very beginning with Steve jobs himself saying he wants to “Destroy Google” because it is a “Stolen product.” However, Apple and Google make lots of business deals and seem more like partners than enemies. Apple and Google also have vastly different philosophies when it comes to user data and protection where Apple believes that user privacy is a natural right and should be a number 1 priority. On the other hand, Google takes user data and makes sure to not leave any stone unturned when they do it. They claim that this is used for better advertising but there have been cases where it has been proven that this rule does not always hold true. Google has been caught selling user data to corporations before and it is a recurring problem so it is concerning that Apple would be willing to sell user data rights to Google because it is against their “Number one priority.”
