During this global pandemic, the only thing keeping many American’s sane whilst stuck inside their homes is the hype on the newest Netflix original documentary, Tiger King. This short and limited series is a documentary which focuses on the life of zookeeper Joe Exotic. Within its opening weekend, Tiger King reached roughly 2.4 American viewers. The following weekend that number increased drastically to about 7.8 million viewers.

Many wonder what this show is truly about and the only honest answer is to watch to find out. The show follows Joe through all drama between himself and many of his cat-loving rivals. Joe Exotic, aka the Tiger King, owned a private zoo in the state of Oklahoma before, unfortunately, being arrested for the attempted murder of Carole Baskin, one of Joe’s worst enemies. The GW Zoo is now owned by Jeff Lowe and holds over 700 exotic animals inside.

Eric Goode, the director of the famous seven episode series, followed Joe for five years filming every ounce of drama that goes on behind the scenes of this crazy zoo that many did not know of until recently. The show also offers viewpoints from all people, including workers inside the GW Zoo and many of Joe’s now well-known rivals.

There have been numerous rumors about a movie being filmed for this insane show many are obsessed with. In fact, an extra 45 minute after show episode was released on Sunday April 12th. In this episode, Joel McHale asked a select few of the people who appeared in the series how their life has changed since the documentary blew up. At the end of all interviews, McHale asked each person which celebrity they would like to see play them in a Tiger King movie that is supposedly in the works. Although, this episode backfired as fans see it as a failed attempt to conclude the series and all watchers want more. As for the large audience, they’ll all have to wait and see what’s to come.
