Universal Orlando Studios has opened “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon”, a new attraction that has been anxiously awaited by many Floridians and others around the country. With the release date being April 6th, a few tourists, newcomers, and year pass holders already had the opportunity to dive into this new ride. Based off of the hit comedy show “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, the ride gets up close and personal with the host as guests travel through New York with him on a wacky adventure.

The branch of Universal called Orlando Studios has themes in different areas of their park, including a Big Apple scenery part, and producers knew this was the perfect place for a Jimmy Fallon ride to be. Replacing the former “Twister” ride, Race Through New York is surrounded by city scenery at the get go, really adding to the realistic effects of truly being up north.

The creativity put into this ride doesn’t stop there though. Agonizingly waiting in line for 35 minutes with nothing to do is a nonexistent notion here. A new system has been set up called a Virtual Line experience where people are given a colored card to shorten lines. If the lights in the room change to the color of that card, guests can move up to the next level, up some stairs as a way of crowd control. Not to mention everyone is allowed to roam free, looking at everything the ride has to offer, including Fallon-style humored sections to interact with and historical television talk host relics. In truth, half of the ride experience is just waiting in line.

Once everyone is out of the line though, the true ride begins. Many people have wondered if the ride is a real and wild rollercoaster. Although it is wild, the ride is actually very virtual based and is a motion simulator attraction. This means that even if it looks like the car is soaring through the skies of Manhattan, its mostly just rocking back and forth on a pedestal, but creates a realistic affect nonetheless. The contents of what is seen is full of gags and laughs as any Jimmy Fallon show would have. There are many references to his late night show along the way, and lots of glittering scenery of New York City.

Even Jimmy Fallon himself says the ride is spectacular. Although he was behind productions, filming, and started the idea himself, it was a huge surprise to him to actually ride the final product.

“To have a crazy idea that you never thought would ever happen, happen? Even before we got on the ride, I flipped out.” Fallon says.

The only way someone can fully understand the true Jimmy Fallon experience is to go to Universal and hop on the ride themselves. Junior Michael Turney has heard about the ride since its announcement a year ago.

“I’m a big fan of Jimmy Fallon and I can’t wait to go on the ride. The 3D attraction seems really cool, kind of like “Soarin’” from Disney.”

Universal studios has “Race Through New York” fully running for anyone to experience, and it truly is an amazing one.
