The 89th Annual Academy Awards were held Sunday, February 27th, 2017. Although the awards themselves are a pivotal part of the day, the red carpet also gives the nominees and presenters a chance to show off their attire. With this, there comes the most glamorous and show stopping outfits, and the media does not fall short of announcing them.

First up, the best dressed woman would have to be Taraji P. Henson. The movie she was in this past year, Hidden Figures, was nominated for ‘Best Picture.’ Wearing a classic, black velvet gown by Alberta Ferretti and Nirav Modi diamonds, she stole the show with her ‘Hollywood bombshell’ ensemble. Not only was her dress stunning, so was her makeup and hair. The voluminous side part and short bob gave the look a slight edginess. As for makeup, the fresh face and grey toned eye makeup pulled the look together in an effortless way.

Nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role’ in La La Land, Gosling definitely portrayed the old Hollywood style of the movie into his outfit. Wearing Gucci, the ruffled under shirt pulled the look together, and brought something different to the red carpet.
