Sadie Hawkins Dress-Up Days
Starting February 13th, there will be Sadie Hawkin’s Week filled with various dress-up days for students to participate in.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Winter Springs High is getting ready for their Sadie Hawkins dance that will be filled with dancing, eating, talking, and having fun.
With a play on normal dances, Sadie Hawkins is different because it escapes traditionalism where girls are encouraged to ask out the guys instead of vice versa.
In any case, WSHS will be taking up this old tradition and making it a fun experience for any grade to attend. The dance will be held on Friday, February 17th, 2017 from 7 PM to 11 PM in the school cafeteria. But even before the main event, there will be a spirit week leading up to it, including two fun tournaments before the big day.
Spirit Week:
Wear different colors to signify what relationship status you are
- Single- Green
- Taken- Red
- Complicated- Yellow
Tuesday, February 14th: Valentine’s day
Wear Valentine’s day colors like pink, white, and purple, including any hearts on your clothing or accessories
Wednesday, February 15th : Decade’s day
Each grade level wears different clothing from different eras of the 20th century
- Seniors: 50’s – polka dot dresses, pinup hair, leather jackets, and poodle skirts are perfect 50’s styles
- Juniors: 60’s – peace signs and tye dye are good identifications of a 60s look
- Sophomores: 70’s – the 70’s were filled with ugly plaid patterns, mustaches, and big glasses
- Freshman: 80’s – wearing neon colors, animal patterns, and workout gear would fit the style of the 80s
Thursday, February 16th: Dynamic duo day
You and a friend or partner wear matching outfits this day.
Some ideas would be food like ketchup and mustard, famous people or characters like Lilo and Stitch, animals like cat and dog, or any other crazy duo.
Friday, February 17th: Candy Day
Day of the dance!
Dress up as your favorite candy like Reese’s or Twix
Other events:
Bubble soccer tournament (Monday):
Teams of 5 will compete inside giant inflatable balls with each other. It will be held in the stadium at 6:00PM.
Team: 5$ to play
Admission: 3$
Lip sync battle (Wednesday):
Watch students compete against others by lip syncing over songs and bringing out their best moves onstage. The battle starts at 7:00 PM.
Admission: 3$
Whether a freshman or senior, single or going with friends, attending with your significant other or just going for the food and music, everyone can have a blast at this year’s Sadie Hawkins dance.
